Our Philosophy

We aim to prevent disease and decay so that we never need to treat it.

There is a saying that the best dentistry is the least dentistry. At every appointment, we give you as much information as possible about your dental health. We can then give you advice which is specific to your individual needs. It’s our hope that you will be inspired to take care of your teeth and mouth. By working together in this way we can help you achieve the best possible standard of dental health and build a relationship based on trust and honesty that will keep you coming back to us long into the future.

We aim to prevent disease and decay so that we never need to treat it. That is our philosophy here. At WDC you will receive the best dental care currently available. We will provide gentle dentistry in a considerate manner taking your wishes fully into account. In a survey our patients at WDC overwhelmingly rated the care they had received as “caring”, “gentle” and “informative”.

Dr David Storey

BDS, M Clin Dent
GDC 65768

David qualified in 1990 from Sheffield University and has gained a vast amount of experience in all aspects of dentistry.  He has a Masters Degree in Clinical Dentistry at Kings College London, and is one of the few people to have passed with distinction.  This was a 4-year degree course covering all aspects of dentistry but specialising in prosthodontics (the restoration and replacement of teeth).  The course examined both David’s in-depth knowledge of dentistry and his clinical skills, and as a result David can provide high quality dental care tackling anything from simple fillings and gum treatments through to more sophisticated cosmetic treatments.

David has also completed 18 months of training in the placement and restoration of dental implants at the University of Sheffield.  Since then, he has successfully placed hundreds of dental implants.  Dental implants are often (though not always) the best treatment currently available for missing teeth.

While both dentists are capable of very high-quality cosmetic treatment, this is not what every patient wants.  Our main priority is to achieve and maintain a healthy and stable mouth requiring minimal ongoing treatment.  Our practice is built on maintaining a long-term relationship with our patients.
